Project READY Minicourse: Home
WELCOME!
Curated by and for public youth services librarians, this abbreviated version of the Project READY: Reimagining Equity & Access for Diverse Youth professional development curriculum was designed specifically with CLEL members in mind. This minicourse is available for individual use at any time, in addition to being the basis for study cohort opportunities provided by CLEL. The Project READY Minicourse task force would like to thank the creators of Project READY for developing and updating the original full curriculum, and for their enthusiasm about the creation of this minicourse.
The minicourse was compiled by a task force of youth services library staff from across the US that have completed the full Project READY curriculum. All content in the minicourse is based on the full curriculum, but liberties were taken to make slight changes to the text and/or order of information for clarity and flow. Some older resources linked in the full curriculum have been replaced with more recent publications at the discretion of the task force. The creators of Project READY are not affiliated with or responsible for changes made by the task force.
NOTES FOR PARTICIPANTS
- This curriculum references many outside resources to support the content. As a general rule, if a resource is linked within the text, it is assigned reading for Project READY Minicourse cohorts. If a resource is not linked in the text but is labeled with a footnote, it is an optional resource for further reading or exploration. Participants interested in doing further reading can refer to the Additional Resources section at the end of the modules to find links to each optional resource, as well as other recommended resources.
- During the development of this minicourse from 2023-2024, the full Project READY curriculum was updated with additional modules and content. Because this minicourse was already under development before these changes were published, it does not reflect those updates at this time. As a result, you may notice discrepancies between module numbers in the minicourse and the full curriculum.
- The modules from the full Project READY curriculum that do not apply directly to the work of public youth services librarians have been greatly reduced and/or combined in the minicourse to provide CLEL’s participants with just a need-to-know overview. If you are interested in taking a deeper dive into any subject, you can access the corresponding full Project READY module(s) using the links at the top of each page.
